#Bott
Here's a great article on John A. Bott, husband of Eva Lilly, son of Moritz Bott and Anna Bubel. The feature was on John's retirement after 45 years with the Nickel Plate Railroad.
The article was written by Ed Satterfield, a longtime reporter for The Muncie Star who began his career in the 1930s and was still working at The Star when I started there in 1979, and he remained there into the 1990s. He died in 1995.
He did a great job on this feature of my great-uncle and his work on the railroad and where he was born. What wasn't mentioned was that John and his brother Peter J. and sister Anna came to Muncie in 1899 after the death of their father, Moritz. The three became guardians of my great-grandfather Peter Bott and his wife, Mary (Best) Bott.
Regardless, enjoy this bit of Bott history from nearly 70 years ago.
